Information for Hypnotherapists

We are a very professional, friendly, supportive group. There is always a Fellow member available to offer advice or assistance on the phone or by email should this be required. You are never in isolation, whether still in training or in full practice.

Membership includes the use of the designating letters FAHSM, MAHSM or LAHSM, depending on your membership grade at entry.

We hold National meetings for Continuing Professional Development (CPD), which provide the opportunity for informal discussion and exchange of information. A CPD Certificate is issued after each meeting which you attend. These are currently held by video link.

You are never just a name. We keep in touch with each other on a regular basis and give support to each other whenever it is needed.

Be part of our network of hypnotherapists by joining AHSM today. Once you join AHSM, clients will be able to find you on our online directory. You will receive email notification of all CPD events and meetings, where you will be able to share good practice and ideas with other AHSM members.

We produce our own annual Journal of Hypnotherapy & Stress Management which is made available to all members online.

In order to maintain your own personal mental health and well being, all our members are required to undergo regular six-monthly stress checks. A face to face check is required every two years, but the remaining checks may be carried out on the phone. These are carried out by Fellows of AHSM and are totally confidential between the member and the Fellow. No notes are taken and nothing is discussed with anyone else.

AHSM is registered as an organisation to facilitate any AHSM members to apply for the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), which enables them to work with children and vulnerable adults.  This service cannot be accessed individually, but can only be accessed through a registered organisation such as AHSM.

As you may be aware, from Friday, 25th May 2018, the Data Protection Act 1988 was replaced by the General Data Protection Regulation 2016. The GDPR sets out the key principles by which all personal data, i.e. data by which an individual may be identified, must be collected, processed, stored and used by an organisation such as The Association of Hypnotherapy & Stress Management. Please click on this link for a description of the GDPR and its requirements, together with a copy of the Association Privacy Statement.

Finally, you will be able to access the useful range of resources and benefits in the Members’ Area, available to practitioners only.
